  • Post-Doctoral Programs: Explore further specialization (e.g., Endodontics, Oral Surgery, Pediatrics). Many offer stipends or salaries.

  • Public Service: Consider roles in FQHCs, Community Health Centers, or military service, which can help with loan repayment.

  • Private Practice: Ranges from solo practices to large groups. Be clear about your role and maintain open communication with the owner to ensure success.

  • DSOs: Corporate dentistry offers centralized management, freeing you from business operations but with less control over clinical decisions.

  • Associate to Ownership: Start as an associate with the goal of buying the practice after a few years.

  • Partnerships: Share practice responsibilities and patients, but clear communication is critical.

  • Co-ownership (Solo Group): Own separate practices while sharing space and overhead with another dentist.

  • Mentorship to Ownership: Take over clinical duties immediately, intending to buy the practice later while being mentored by the current owner.
